Radiology loves its labels. Some of them are shorthand from the early days of MRI, and they flatten a lot of detail into a single tidy word.
I would rather describe what is actually happening. Instead of a vague grade, I will tell you there is old hardening of the bone with fresh swelling still layered on top, which tells the clinician this is a chronic stress process that is still active. That sentence carries more information than any label.
A precise report does more work for the physician on the other end. It hands them findings they can act on, not just a category they have to decode.
The goal is never to sound clinical. The goal is to be useful.
